Cookies and embedded videos

You can browse REL's public rankings without signing in. Account features need cookies to keep you signed in securely.
Sign-in cookies
- __Host-rel_access: authenticates account requests. Its browser lifetime is up to one day, although the token can expire earlier.
- __Host-rel_refresh: allows REL to renew your session. Its browser lifetime is up to 30 days, renewed when the session is refreshed.
These cookies are set for REL's own domain, sent over HTTPS, unavailable to page scripts and restricted to same-site requests. They are necessary for the sign-in service you request. Signing out clears both cookies. You can also clear or block them in your browser, but account features will stop working.
Traffic measurements
REL uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand traffic and page performance. Cloudflare describes this service as using no cookies or local storage for analytics and no fingerprinting to identify visitors. This is separate from any security cookies Cloudflare may use when protecting a website.
Read how Cloudflare Web Analytics works. REL does not include advertising trackers in its website code.
You control when YouTube loads
Showcase videos start as a notice and a button. REL does not load a YouTube player or thumbnail for that showcase until you choose “Load YouTube video”. This connects your browser to YouTube using its privacy-enhanced player; YouTube may then use cookies or other storage and receive viewing information.
The choice applies to that player only and is not saved as a site-wide preference. Reloading the page shows the notice again. Closing a ranking profile stops its embedded player. You can clear any third-party cookies using your browser settings.
Other connections
Fonts and some profile pictures load from other providers. These requests can share technical information even when no cookie is set. The Privacy notice explains these connections and how to contact REL.
